STOCKY SHUTDOWN - AUGUST 31, 2026
What to finish before Stocky is retired.
A deadline-led plan for Shopify POS merchants who still need to export history, test new workflows, and document cutover decisions.
Shopify says Stocky will no longer be available after August 31, 2026. APIs will stop working, historical records will not automatically move, and suppliers cannot be exported directly.
Four workstreams to close
- 01
Archive: export the records you may need later
- 02
Validate: check file structure, SKU mappings, costs, dates, and currencies
- 03
Decide: assign open purchase orders and incomplete records
- 04
Rehearse: test purchase orders, receipts, transfers, counts, and adjustments in the new workflow
- 05
Educate: give store and finance teams a written cutover procedure
- 06
Evidence: store exports, reports, and approvals in one controlled folder
Problems worth finding while Stocky is still available.
Do not wait for the last week
Export defects are easiest to fix while the original system and the people who know the records are still available.
APIs also stop
Any internal or third-party workflow that reads Stocky data needs its own shutdown and replacement plan.
Read-only is not a strategy
A temporary read-only period does not replace a durable archive with clear ownership and retention rules.
