STOCKTAKE HISTORY

Keep Stocky stocktake history useful for the next inventory close.

A focused checklist for inventory-count exports, location history, SKU matching, and variance evidence.

Why this matters

Historical stocktakes will not automatically move into Shopify. Preserve enough context to explain what was counted, where it was counted, and why the recorded variance changed inventory.

PRACTICAL CHECKLIST

What the archive should preserve

  1. 01

    Stocktake date and completion status

  2. 02

    Location or store identifier

  3. 03

    SKU or variant identifier

  4. 04

    Expected and counted quantities

  5. 05

    Variance and adjustment outcome

  6. 06

Any notes or approval evidence retained outside the CSV

COMMON FAILURE POINTS

Problems worth finding while Stocky is still available.

Duplicate count rows

Repeated SKU and location combinations can overstate adjustments when files are combined or imported without review.

Location drift

Confirm that historical location names still map to the current Shopify location structure.

Unexplained variance

A count result without its date, location, and approval trail is difficult to use as closing evidence.

NEXT ACTIONS

Build a reviewable stocktake pack

1

Export every completed stocktake available

2

Keep one untouched copy per export date

3

Check SKU and location uniqueness

4

Retain variance approvals with the related file

5

Give the final pack to the inventory owner and accountant
